Meteorite impact on Mars

In January, scientists noticed that the InSight probe (a stationary lander for seismic measurements launched in 2018) had registered numerous quakes at the end of December 2021.
Months of analysis by the NASA and DLR team led to the conclusion that the quakes were caused by the impact of rocks.
The impacts were confirmed by images taken by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) space probe.
The meteorite impact was close to the equator, had also uncovered chunks of ice and left a crater 150 m in size and around 21 m deep.
